Luke 2:41-52

Who is this Jesus?

I. Jesus was the son of Mary and Joseph.

     A. Jesus was part of a family who lived under the authority of the law.

     B. Jesus was part of a family who lived in community.

II. Jesus was an astounding twelve year-old.

     A. He was one who had the trust of His family.

     B. He was one who interacted brilliantly with teachers.

     C. He was one who was an insightful interpreter of Scripture.

III. Jesus understood His identity and purpose.

     A. Jesus saw himself as the Son of God.

     B. Jesus saw himself as one under His Father's authority.

IV. We are called to see ourselves as ones under the authority of God.
