LUKE: Our Greatest Need

Luke 5:12-26

Main Point: Come to Jesus because He has the power and authority to give you what you need.

Four implications of Jesus' authority and power:

   1) Jesus' authority and power to heal the sick and forgive sins is redemptive.

       a. Leprosy was believed to have no cure. God alone could heal it.

       b. Leprosy was associated with sin and shame.

          Jesus touched the man to heal him despite Jewish laws and social norms to stay away (v13)

   2) Jesus' authority causes people to want to be near Him. It is attractive.

  3) Jesus' authority is offensive to the Pharisees.

   4) Jesus has the authority to provide what we most need.
