Cause of Division: ‘Worldliness’ in the Church (vv. 1-2)


Symptoms of Division: Jealousy, Quarreling, Factions (vv. 3-4)


Cure of Division: Know that God Gives the Growth (vv. 5-9)


Amos 9:13-15,
11 “In that day I will raise up
the booth of David that is fallen ...
and rebuild it as in the days of old,
12 that they may possess the remnant of Edom
and all the nations who are called by my name,” ...
13 “Behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD ...
14 I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel,
and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them;
they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine,
and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 I will plant them [i.e., Israel] on their land,
and they shall never again be uprooted.


Application


Sending Word: Matthew 9:37-38,
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are
few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest
field.”
