Sermon Outline for June 5, 2022
1 Corinthians: The Way of Salvation
1 Corinthians 15:1-2
Introduction: Can a Christian lose their salvation?
Two views:
Eternal security
- John 10:27-30
- 1 Peter 1:3-5
Possible to fall away
- 1 Corinthians 15:1-2
- Hebrews 6:4-6
- Matthew 24:10-13
Agreement between both side:
- God is sovereign, powerful, able to save, and faithful to His promises
- Salvation is not earned by human works
- The Holy Spirit is at work in all believers and is essential in our salvation
Isaiah 35:8-10,
8 And a highway will be there;
it will be called the Way of Holiness;
it will be for those who walk on that Way. ...
only the redeemed will walk there,
10 and those the LORD has rescued will return.
They will enter Zion with singing;
everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
Summary:
(1) We are saved by faith in Jesus
(2) We must continue to place our faith in Jesus daily
(3) For all those who have faith, the Gospel is big enough for your failures
