RSM is a weekly gathering of middle and high school students who, along with enthusiastic leaders, are excited about knowing Jesus and sharing Him with the world. Students can expect to engage in passionate worship, Biblical teaching, age- and gender-specific small groups, and fun games. It’s also a place where friendships are built in a non-threatening environment. Using modern technology and multi-media, our goal is to create an experience in which students can begin or deepen relationships with Christ. As a result of our services, Bible studies, outreach events, mission trips, and summer camps, we want our youth to KNOW, LIVE, and EXPERIENCE three basic truths:
- I am created to pursue an authentic relationship with my Creator.
- I belong to Jesus Christ and define who I am by what He says.
- I exist every day to demonstrate God’s love to a broken world.
At the heart of RSM, we highly value these things:
Discipleship - We want students to build a foundation of spiritual truth and disciplines. We are committed to training students in the Word and teaching them to grow on their own. We desire students to be grounded Biblically and to be disciplined to continue to grow throughout their life.
Relational Influence - We long to see students enter into a life-changing relationship with Jesus. We hate the “holy huddle.” We are called to be fishers of men and we encourage our students to be outreach oriented. We train our students to be soul winners and provide them with opportunities to introduce their friends to the gospel of Jesus. Our challenge encourages them to build friendships with lost people, share a verbal witness, and use the student ministry meetings as a supplemental tool to expose their friends to the gospel.
Excellence - Excellence, in our minds, is not doing things better than someone else. It is about how well we prepare and doing our best with what we have. If we do anything excellent in our life, it should be ministry. We believe excellence honors God and expect our leaders to have a spirit of excellence in their preparation, and to serve the Lord with all of their hearts.
Innovation - We desire to be on the cutting edge of what God is doing in student ministry. We will stay creative, constantly changing our methods to stay culturally relevant. It is crucial that we understand that we are dealing with a mission field that is no longer familiar with church, so it is vital to change our style without compromising the substance.
Partnering With Parents - We desire to include parents in our student ministry, and to partner with them as they encourage and support their student’s spiritual growth. We have an open-door policy and parents are welcome to attend RSM functions any time.
Worship - We provide opportunities for students to draw closer to Christ through worship and to enjoy being in His presence. We believe in different methods of praise and worship and support this generation’s unique style of expressing love to God.
