1. The Decline and Fall of Solomon

Verses that hint about Solomon's character - 1 Kings 3:3, 1 Kings 4:26

Verses that Solomon should have known to avoid problems - Deut. 17:16-18 

Solomon's having multiple wives shows spiritual foolishness because:

             1. It was disobedient Deut. 17:17

             2. It was arrogant - thinking he would not be affected

             3. It shows Solomon was untrusting - relying on political alliances rather than                    God

2. How it Applies to our Hearts and Lives

          The choices we make impact what our heart craves

          What do we need to subtract from our lives?

          What do we need to add to our lives? Some suggestions:

             -Read the Bible - ex. Deut. 17:18

             -Pray consistently

             -Share life with other Christians consistently
