Luke 5:1-11

I. Three ways Simon responds to Christ's pursuit and commissioning.

   1. Simon obeys in response to Jesus' requests.

      a. Jesus' commands and Simon's obedience reveals that Jesus is indeed the Messiah.

   2. Simon repents in response to Jesus' power.

      a. Fear and repentance are the appropiate response when faced with God's holiness.

      b. Listening to Jesus' words lead to success.

   3. Simon leaves everything and follows in response to Jesus' commission.

II. Application

   1. Our call to discipleship is the same as Peter's. Following Christ looks like obeying God, repenting, and leaving the world.

   2. Disciples are called to join Christ's mission.
