Preacher: Tiffany Flanagan Series: 2 Corinthians Scripture: 2 Corinthians 8:1-24
SERMON NOTES for 04.02.2023
2 Corinthians 8:1-24 “Gospel-Grounded Generosity”
OUTLINE
3 principles for Christian stewardship:
- When one truly understands the grace of God, generosity overflows. (verses 1-11).
Application: What might it look like for you to pursue a greater understanding of God’s grace so that joy and generosity may overflow more powerfully from your life?
- A goal of Christian stewardship is for all Christians have their basic needs met (verses 12-15).
Application: What are you main finical goals? Do they align with this stewardship principle?
- Christian stewardship seeks to administrate money in a wise and upright way (16-24).
Application: Is there anyone you can ask to provide some accountability as you seek to steward your own finances in a wise and upright way?
Reflection Question:
- By giving to the fund for Jerusalem, the Corinthians were bridging some pretty strong ethnic and cultural divides. This was a huge testimony of the power of the gospel. How might the church today bridge divides in way that exalts the grace of God?
