Journeying Together: Accountability

Main Point:

Accountability (the act of supporting someone’s commitment to walk with Jesus) is important in a thriving Christian community. 

Components of Accountability: 

1. Commitment

1. Thessalonians 5:5-11
2. Other passages to consider:
1. Hebrews 3:12-13; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
3. Admonishment

4. Pronouncement of Christ and His Gospel
1. Colossians 3:15-17

Application: 

1. Practice these components of accountability.
2. Look for an accountability/discipleship group.
3. Take note of ways you walked with Jesus this week and share with the church.

1. What makes it difficult for you to speak the truth in love? Why is it hard? How does the gospel speak to this struggle?
