JOURNEYING TOGETHER: Lord’s Prayer, Part II
Matthew 6:5-15
Luke 4:18-19,
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Luke 4:43, But [Jesus] said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns
also, because that is why I was sent.”
Matthew 6:31-34,
31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we
wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need
them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as
well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has
enough trouble of its own.
Isaiah 11:10-12,
10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and
his resting place will be glorious. 11 In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to
reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from
Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean.
12 He will raise a banner for the nations
and gather the exiles of Israel;
he will assemble the scattered people of Judah
from the four quarters of the earth.
