Daniel: Faithfulness in Babylon - Chapter 9

MAIN IDEA:
We can have hope that although we experience the distress of sin now, God is bringing about
everlasting righteousness through Jesus Christ.

DANIEL’S PRAYER....
1.shows deep reverence toward God
2.is full of Scripture
3.contains much heartfelt confession
4.culminates in a God-centered request

GOD’S RESPONSE TO DANIEL’S PRAYER
1.I see you. I hear you. You are beloved.
2.God’s people will go back to Jerusalem, but there is a much greater return from exile still to come.
3.There will be affliction in the waiting.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
1.What things do you pray for most?
2.What does what you ask of God reveal about the deeper desires of your heart?
3.Consider the line from “Christ Is Mine Forever More” this week. In what was does it encourage
you?
Mine are keys to Zion city where beside the king I’ll walk. For there my heart has found its treasure.
Christ is mine forevermore.
